Grandsons of Xu Beihong Visit Guangzhou SCA School
On the morning of May 12, 2025, Mr. Xu Xiaoyang, the eldest grandson of Xu Beihong and Director of the Xu Beihong Art Museum, along with Mr. Xu Xuejun, the second grandson of Xu Beihong, visited Guangzhou SCA School (hereinafter referred to as "SCA") for a tour and exchange. Accompanied by school leaders, the guests explored the campus in depth, experiencing the school's educational philosophy and innovative practices integrating Chinese and Singaporean education.

Mr. Xu Xiaoyang and Mr. Xu Xuejun first visited the vibrant teaching spaces along the school's "Vitality Axis" and spoke highly of SCA's teaching environment. Upon arriving at the school history hall, both sides paused to revisit the profound bond between Xu Beihong and the patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee. After the full-scale outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937, Mr. Xu Beihong traveled to Southeast Asia to save the nation through art. His first anti-war fundraising art exhibition in Singapore in 1939 received strong support from overseas Chinese leaders like Tan Kah Kee. Xu Beihong's "patriotism through art" and Tan Kah Kee's "national salvation through education" formed a spiritual resonance across time, deeply touching the teachers and students present, who were all moved by their sense of national responsibility.

At the end of the tour, Mr. Xu Xiaoyang improvised a calligraphy work on the spot, inscribing the school motto with powerful brushstrokes, embodying his earnest wishes for the school's development. Subsequently, the guests took group photos in front of the statue of Tan Kah Kee and engaged in discussions on topics such as innovative art education and cultural inheritance.
This visit not only carried forward the spiritual resonance between Xu Beihong and Tan Kah Kee across time but also injected new momentum into the school's promotion of art education.
